I had a really great day last Sunday! My sister in law, Martine, who is also expecting, threw me and Amy (my other sister in law!) a very sweet and intimate baby shower at La Creperie in Calderon St., San Juan. My childhood friends who I haven’t hung out with in a while and some cousins came to celebrate with us.
Martine did such a great job putting together the shower. It already looks really pretty inside La Creperie, but she made our table even prettier and a little more personal by dressing it up with colorful French macarons, fresh flowers and sweet-smelling lavender soap for each guest to take home!
What we had from top to bottom: Pasta Bolognese, Salad Lyonnaise, Crepe Brulee with Strawberries and Banana, The Spoiled Mummy and Churro Crepe. Ah! Heavenly! (Check out the La Creperie Calderon Menu here)
It really was just a simple afternoon together, catching up on each others lives, talking about things a girl can only talk about with other girls, while enjoying (and sharing!) delicious crepes. I had a super good time! I guess I have just been craving for the company of my girlfriends and so having them around was already a treat.
They also came bearing gifts for the soon-to-arrive babies. After all, it was a baby shower! Most of them gave consumables, which we absolutely need and cannot receive too much of, such as diapers, baby wipes and baby soap. Some of them also gave adorable clothes for the little ones. They’re so cute and tiny! Sometimes, I forget how small newborns are!
Martine also got me a maternity/nursing top from Elin that I’ve been wanting to get! It’s so pretty and comfortable, I cannot wait to wear it!
Before leaving, we asked our friend, Ceres, to take photos of us three preggos together. Amy and I are almost always pregnant around the same time, but it’s the first time that Martine is too. And it has been quite fun and exciting! It’s awesome that I get to share my journey with these two beautiful ladies and even take part in satisfying each others’ cravings (hehe!). It’s a special time that may never repeat again, so I believe it just had to be photographed! It will be something amazing to show our kids in the future.
Thank you, again, Ate Marts and friends for the time together and the presents and the good food! I’m thankful that this little girl in my belly has such fun and caring Titas. I know she will always be in good hands! 🙂
