Some time five years ago, before we even had any kids, I remember going to a street party at Cubao Expo with Kayo and some other friends. I don't recall what event it was but I do remember having really enjoyed it. There was live music, a couple of art shows, cool vintage finds, poetry, drinks, as well as many interesting people to meet. I also remember talking to Kayo about it days after and telling him how it would be interesting to run a place where many different types of art is welcome and hold events where people can just express their creativity without it being so formal or Read More
A Very Merry Stamping Party
Wow. I can't believe we're at the end of the year! December seemed to have just whisked by in a blink. So before this month closes, let me tell you about our final Craft Party for 2015 which happened last Dec 5th — Very Merry Stamps: a rubberstamp making and gift wrapping party. We were privileged to have been given the chance to hold it at the wonderful Museo Sanso at San Juan. It was such a treat for the workshop participants and for us, the organizers, to be in a very serene and inspiring environment. We were situated in the open floor in the middle of the museum where, Read More
The Emma Strikes THREE!
Anybody who knows Kayo well enough would think a Star Wars themed kiddie party is bound to happen somewhere along his journey as a father. I did. Except I didn't think it would happen this soon! But Kayo has a point. Star Wars fans who are currently parents of young children live in exciting times. With the new movie coming out, preceding many others in the works, we get to relive our childhood AND at the same time, share it with our own brood. So, when our dear sweet Emma told us she wanted a Star Wars party for her birthday, we were thrilled... Kayo most specially. She and Summer recently Read More
Partying Hard! (Part II)
As a small budding business and creative community, Mia and I of Craft Party PH get to experience a lot of firsts. We're like funny little toddlers learning to walk more steadily, giddy and excited as we cross milestones. The last month has been about firsts — our first mall event and our first time to share our story as passion pursuers — and oh what a ride it has been! Please spend another minute or two with me and let me tell you how we've been partying during last two weeks of November... Craft Festival at UP Town Center UP Town Center and Ayala Malls invited us, through Karla Pasion Read More
A Picnic Party for Jo
When Jo turned one, our family was up North in La Union for the weekend because of Craft Camp, which I co-organized. We did celebrate Jo's birthday there with a simple meal at Flotsam and Jetsam, then a stroll down the beach. Jo seemed to have really enjoyed her day! After that weekend though, Kayo and I thought it would be nice to do another simple get together back in the city with our other loved ones who we knew would want to celebrate with her too. So, the following Sunday, we threw her a little Picnic Party at Salcedo Park. Salcedo Park is one of our kids' favorite places to Read More
Partying Hard! (Part I)
It has been a couple of exciting months for us at Craft Party PH and we are really grateful for the support we are getting from so many different people. We've been working very hard putting together monthly events and workshops and it's all been worth it because of the relationships we are building and new things we are learning. So here is an update of what we've been up to lately...Also, taking this opportunity to thank the many people and wonderful brands who have shown their support to our little crafty community. Stamp Swap + Katipunan Art Fest
I think that the next best thing to working on crafts is giving them away. And this is why I enjoy craft swaps. Last Oct 3, I was very happy to have been able to join Life After Breakfast's Stamp Swap during the Katipunan Art Festival. It was held at Ninyo Fusion Cuisine. Alessa of LAB asked all participants to make ten stamps with an accompanying print or artwork each. Prints can be in any form and stamps and may be packaged however we like. I decided to pick a theme so it's easier to make ten stamps and thought it should be something that tells a bit more about me. And because I love Read More
Lately in C&V…
It feels like there's a thousand things going on in our lives right now and I've just been too slow updating the blog (huhu) so I've decided to make a quick(ish) round up of my favorite things, projects and happenings as of late... JO TURNS ONE The family drove up to La Union last week for Craft Camp PH and the day before camp was our Jo's first birthday! We didn't get to prepare a party but we did gather friends and family who were there the same weekend for lunch and cake at Flotsam and Jetsam Artist Beach Hostel. It was short and simple and was really just about doing something with the Read More
Handmade Bling!
Teaching new crafts is one of our major goals in Craft Party PH but later on, we realized, that giving small businesses and blooming crafters, much like us, a venue to share their products and specialties is a very good goal to achieve as well. I personally love the idea because not only do I get the opportunity to teach at Craft Party PH, I also get to learn new things from other experienced artists! (A big woot-woot to collaborations!) So we, at Craft Party PH are so pleased and grateful for the success of our first event in collaboration with a guest instructor last August 29! It was a Read More
For The Love Of Art and The Pursuit of Bliss
It was raining hard that day but as I stepped into the charming and cozy restaurant, I was greeted by fresh and pretty smiling faces. I knew I was in for a lovely afternoon. It was, once again, the Blissmakerie, put together by Martine de Luna and her team at Make it Blissful last September 13. This time, it was held at Mateo's, a Spanish-inspired Filipino restaurant that recently opened in New Manila. Blissmakerie is designed to get women of different crafts, careers and walks of life together in one place so they can share their stories and inspire one another. What Martine is really Read More
