How We Did Halloween This Year
This year's Halloween has turned out to be a blast, for the kids most specially! I think it's our most eventful Halloween to date and has been quite meaningful because we got to spend it with people we care about. Here's a round up of what we did over the last few days leading up to November first... QUICK COSTUME DIYMy girls like to dress up. Each year, I try my best to put together the costumes they want to wear. It may take quite some effort on my part but I don't mind because I do like dressing them up and I enjoy the challenge of coming up with something out of stuff we already Read More
Single-Day Vacay
As much as I'd like to, It's not always feasible for us as a family to go on weekend getaways but I've discovered that quick trips just outside the metro or a day of exploring around the city can be like micro vacations. Even if it's just an hour or two away from home, a change of scenery can be a refreshing experience. It's totally what you make of it! So when there's an occasion or reason to celebrate and we do have one entire day to spare, I rile up Kayo and the kids, hop in the car and go exploring. Within the last few weeks, we went on several single day vacays to celebrate two Read More
Project Life: Kota Kinabalu 2017
At long last! After a year and a half, I've finally completed our Kota Kinabalu family vacation Project Life album! I have not spent enough time working on my PLs lately but I did find some down time last week so I decided to wrap it up and put the final details. So happy to complete it! It's fitting that I post it this Mothers Day weekend. As we all celebrate moms, I also choose to celebrate children and families and milestones. This trip was definitely a big moment for us as a family. It was our first time to take the kids on a vacation out of the country and it was also their first Read More

Adventures with Summer, Emma and Jo
Summer and Emma, with their Papa, put together a video about how our family celebrated Emma's sixth birthday last December. At that time, Kayo had just finished a big project. So after having a hectic production schedule for weeks which kept him away, we were happy to finally have so much time to just be together playing and exploring -- from ice skating to carousel rides, from horseback riding to a safari adventure! We went on a series of mini adventures which Emma and her sisters had been wanting to do. But I'll stop right here and let their video show you Read More

All The Christmas Fuss
For this year's Advent Calendar, I let the girls have complete artistic control. We used scrap cardboard and toilet paper rolls which they turned into a mini Christmas village with trees, houses, shops, lamp posts and cars -- so cute! The very last, for the 25th day, is a little nativity scene. Then I was the one who came up with each day's surprise or activity. Kayo and I were away on a trip last week so we haven't been able to open them up with them. Now we're back and the kids are happy we get to do the activities together. Last night was movie night and we watched a classic -- Read More
Merry Making at Quriocity
Making ornaments with my kids during this time of year has become one of our much-anticipated family traditions. I enjoy it and treasure it simply because it helps add more life and meaning to our Christmas preparations. We all know how chaotic this season can be so setting aside a few hours to just sit down together as a family to make things with our hands, help us slow down and meaningfully savor it all somehow. So when Quriocity -- a one-of-a-kind space in Quezon City that encourages creativity and imaginative play -- reached out to me a few months back asking if I was interested in doing Read More
Made to run. Built to fly.
Jo turned 4 years old a couple weeks ago. She's growing up fast, and considering that she's the youngest of the three sisters, this seems significant for me. While I do have memories as early as 2 years old, most of my more tangible ones start at around 4. So if these girls are anything like their Papa, everything they see now, they will definitely remember. I want them to remember that we played. Read More
