Teaching new crafts is one of our major goals in Craft Party PH but later on, we realized, that giving small businesses and blooming crafters, much like us, a venue to share their products and specialties is a very good goal to achieve as well. I personally love the idea because not only do I get the opportunity to teach at Craft Party PH, I also get to learn new things from other experienced artists! (A big woot-woot to collaborations!) So we, at Craft Party PH are so pleased and grateful for the success of our first event in collaboration with a guest instructor last August 29! It was a Read More
A Happy Handmade Accessory Swap!
A couple of months ago, while working on some crafts at home, an idea came to me to put together a craft swap. At that time, I was into making wooden pendants and was also in search of inspiration for making handmade accessories. So I thought, why not organize a handmade accessory swap! I've joined swaps before but have never put together one, so I immediately contacted one of my craft friends and asked if she thought it was a good idea and if she knew of people who would join. Excitedly, she said she loved it and that she knew of some friends who would be very interested. So that same Read More
DIY Geometric Wooden Accessories
I've always liked making my own accessories. I remember as a child, my friends and I would string plastic beads during class recess and we'd each make our own sets of colorful bracelets and necklaces. They're not exactly strong and they almost resemble plastic foam, but they're easy to cut and they're light and they have that subtle wooden texture that I like. So I've been turning them into pendants, brooches and key chain ornaments. I'm Read More

No 3 Craft For Christmas: Sparkly Christmas Brooch
I had something else planned for today's craft, but the other night, I was looking through the photos from The DIY Mom workshop as I was putting together yesterday's post and I was inspired to makes something else. Instead of making another thing to decorate the house, I thought a cute Christmas accessory would be great. Kayo thought the same thing so I went ahead and made Christmas brooches, one of which I'm giving to my Mom. 1. First you need: felt or fabric, gems from buttons or earrings, blank pin, glue gun, scissors 2. Get your felt or fabric and cut them into leaves. What Read More
L’ Indochine: Seeking Inspiration
As mentioned on my last post of Weekend Snapshots, I dropped by L' Indochine, one of my current favorite shops, last Saturday. I like it there because their items are one of a kind, they are hand made by skilled crafters and artists from all over Asia and the designs, though very ethnic, Indo-Asian in flavor, are also very modern and stylish. It even smells good inside the store! While I was there, I was lucky to meet Charlene Panutat-Carlos, one of the shop owners, and she was so kind to share with me stories behind some of the pieces they're selling. She saw me holding one of the Read More
