My girls and I love stickers! I keep my own stash but I also have a bunch which I let them use when we're scrapbooking together or making greeting cards for friends. We also share a fondness for sticker-bombing our stuff, like bags, boxes and notebooks! They can't stick stickers all over our house but they can inside their closet door, so that's been sticker-bombed too! And because we love stickers so much, we did a little collaboration recently and created sticker sets using their own designs! First, I made them draw on paper. They could draw anything they liked as long as it was big Read More
Growing In Love and In Art…
Kayo and I first met when we were about twelve years old and from that very first day, we had already been making art together. We were both part of a childrens ministry group back then and were assigned to paint a backdrop for a church event. We found ourselves working together many times since then and eventually as young adults, became officemates at a small design studio. We became really good friends and I think also recognized that we worked really well together as a team. Fast forward to a few more years, we fell madly in love, got married not too long after, had kids soon after and now Read More
Elogio Del Agua
Sanso Museum is a gem in San Juan, Metro Manila. It is a serene pocket of inspiration in the middle of a very busy city. I was happy to have been able to talk my parents into going there one afternoon a couple of weeks back despite the horrid traffic. They were celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary and were looking for a new place to visit and explore. Sanso, I thought, Sanso Museum! I had been there late last year, when Craft Party PH had a Christmas-themed rubber-stamp carving workshop. But my parents hadn't been and I was sure they would enjoy it. So we headed there with the kids and Read More
Project Accomplished!
I've finally come to the end of last year's #the100dayproject! I stalled for months and months but when I found out two weeks ago that this year's was about to begin, I knew I just had to catch up! So I did! I managed to finish 28 days worth of drawings within the last 15 days (most drawn the last three!). To end, I did an illustration of my now sore and ink-stained right hand (see last drawing in post). That's because my hand and I are very thankful for this project and what it had allowed me to do. First, because I was able to rediscover what used to be my favorite pastime. I Read More

K-Farr Dress Up Day!
Kayo and I are currently buried in different types of art projects. And this time, aside from just the usual art direction and brand development we do at Honeycomb, we find we're handling more and more event production that are centered in the arts, which allows us to work with many different creative people. In fact, we're currently gearing up for another city wide art event (keep posted!). After having experienced the first one (you can read about it here) and having witnessed how it works, we're looking towards a bigger, more epic and more organized art festival! Can't wait to meet this Read More
Halfway There!
If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably noticed that I've been posting multiple drawings at a time lately. That's because I'm fifteen days behind the 100 Day Project and I'm trying to catch up! I knew I'd get delayed from time to time but I wasn't expecting I'd get so busy. This post is actually two weeks late (or is it three?)! ANYWAY...enough feeling sorry for myself. Let me just celebrate the fact that I am halfway through (and a little over) this project! Hooray! I have stayed on playing along because this project has done and is doing me good in many surprising ways. If on my Read More
100 Drawings By Nica
Yesterday was the 25th day of The 100 Day Project – an online challenge on Instagram pioneered by Elle Luna and The Great Discontent, which celebrates the process of making and encourages people to devote 100 days of their lives exploring something new or doing something they are passionate about. I had never heard of Elle or TGD until the day before the project began. I just heard about it from Kayo who thought we should join so we can both work on our drawings. But when I read more about what the story behind it was and the reasons why one should do it, I got excited about playing along. So Read More
Free Valentines Postcards!
Just a few days left before Valentine's Day and I've got a special treat for you! I designed four new postcards which you can download for free, print as much copies as you like and give away to your loved ones on the day of hearts. And these four original designs were inspired by classic love songs I've always liked. I grew up listening to the "oldies." Music by Louis Armstrong, The Temptations, Frank Sinatra, Al Green and the Beach Boys, to name a few, would always be playing in our car stereo or my parents' record player at home. I vividly remember being a little girl sitting on my dad's Read More
Let The Joyful Celebrations Begin!
Just a few more hours to go before Christmas and tonight, we feast! After hearing Christmas Eve Mass, Kayo, the girls and I will go see my family for Noche Bueña and opening of presents at midnight, which I am all excited for. Tomorrow will be another set of fun festivities with Kayo's side of the family. Our Christmas cards also arrived just in time and I'm pretty excited to give them away! This year, we decided to take individual black and white portraits instead of just one with everybody in it. Kayo designed the cards himself and I just love how they turned out! The girls' photos are Read More
