I've always liked making my own accessories. I remember as a child, my friends and I would string plastic beads during class recess and we'd each make our own sets of colorful bracelets and necklaces. Sometimes we swapped what we made with each other or simply gave them away as presents. Lately, I've gotten hold of scraps of balsa wood. They're not exactly strong and they almost resemble plastic foam, but they're easy to cut and they're light and they have that subtle wooden texture that I like.
