One of the things I love about beginning the year is that I get to use a brand new planner or journal. It's quite literally like starting off with a blank slate — fresh pages full of hope and possibility! And the act of setting up my pages and spreads, writing down my vision and goals for the year, plotting out important dates make facing the new year a little less daunting and a lot more exciting. There's something about seeing it all written down on paper that helps boost my confidence. This 2020, I'm so thrilled to be using Everyday Explorer Co's Let's Be Explorers undated planner, Read More
On Celebrating Wins, Recognizing Losses and Starting Fresh
I remember beginning many years of my adult life already feeling overwhelmed, way before anything has actually started happening. Planning the year was a daunting task and something I did but, in secret, was always a little scared of. I wanted the "new beginnings" but the work put into starting over and setting goals and making plans intimidated me. I always have this discouraging voice inside my head telling me that by casting a vision for my future I'm really just opening myself up to more disappointment. But I pushed myself to do it January last year -- to sit down, assess what I want for my Read More
OFF TO A GREAT START!
The month is almost over. It's usually a cause of panic, but for once, I'm really excited about how the days are coming and going the way they are. January has been good to our family and it really seems like we're off to a great start this year. Here's what panned out the last four weeks and why we are full of gratitude and hope… NY at LU Before hitting the "hustle button" this 2017, our family decided to welcome the new year at surf town. It was our first time to spend new year's there and I was really glad we did. I found quiet moments to just sit, reflect on life and dream for the Read More
A Planner Makeover
I can't believe January is almost over! But as I look back to the first few weeks of 2015 I realize I've done quite a bit already, like nail a handful of graphic design work and throw a little party. I've also started planning on new and exciting things for the first quarter of the year, which I cannot wait to announce, but well, I digress... At the end of last year, I wasn't really expecting to be working and planning on very many new things so I didn't get myself a planner. I actually have not used a planner at all in the last two years since I left my job, so I thought maybe I wouldn't Read More
Hello 2015!
So finally, my first post of the year! Let me begin by saying just how thankful I am for the holiday season that just passed. It zipped by so quickly and a tiny part of me is sad it's over but then, I am also very thankful because my family and I were able to celebrate meaningfully. There were moments of total chaos (e.g. super last minute shopping, keeping the girls from fighting over their new toys on Christmas morning) but there were also moments of pure joy (e.g. Sitting side by side as one family at Christmas Eve Mass, turkey dinner with loved ones). And all of these little moments Read More
Holiday Snapshots
Kayo, Summer and Emma have all been sick the last week. So this weekend we really just stayed home and allowed ourselves to get the rest our bodies demanded. I'm very thankful that, today, everybody is doing a lot better. Summer and Emma are their playful selves again and are slowly getting their appetite back. So instead of posting weekend snapshots, I decided to share glimpses into the Christmas season that was and share our happy moments from the last few weeks. Christmas Day Christmas morning was probably my favorite part of Christmas! It's when we all gather together as a family for Read More

Celebrating New Year at Home
It's 1:30 AM and I write this post in our bedroom, lying in bed beside my two baby girls who are both down with fever. The fireworks have died down outside and Kayo and I just finished having some homemade churros. Summer and Emma getting sick wasn't part of the plan but we did plan on a very quiet and simple new year's eve celebration in the comforts of our own home. It may not be as comfortable as I would like it to be, especially for my two feverish girls, but I choose to be thankful because I get to cross this bridge from old to new, end to beginning, with my favorite people in the world.
