I made it a point not to rush into completing this travel journal entry. I like the idea of letting some time pass before documenting a trip or travel experience instead of working on it right away after getting back home. The space helps me let the experience sink in more and allows me to fully process what I’ve learned and how it all meant to me.

I very much enjoyed going back to these pages and working on them in short spurts over the quarantine period. It became a momentary escape into my memories of exploring foreign cities and far off places.

Here is a flip through video I put together of my travel journal pages. You’ll see that I included tickets, Instax photos, snippets from brochures, stickers and shop cards I acquired from the trip. These paper pieces help tell the story of this particular trip.
I also put in some sketches which really added character to my layouts. I would have loved to sketch right on the spot during the trip but I didn’t have enough time, so I simply snapped photos then used them as reference for drawing later on.

This was my last trip right before the lockdown so I find myself really savoring these memories. I don’t know when we’ll all be able to travel freely again but for now, I’ll be flipping through the pages of my travel diaries to transport me to far off places!
What was the last country/city you visited? What’s the first place you wish to explore once it’s finally become safe to travel? ✈️🙂
