It’s 26 days before Christmas! I hope you feel it cause I do! And I’m loving the cool December breeze we get more often these nights. As we all prepare for the holidays and all the avid memory keepers get ready to document Christmas, I thought it’s the perfect time to share my December Daily album from last year. Here are some photos of my favorite pages and I’ve included a flip through video of the whole album at the bottom of this post.
The kids and I had a lovely time looking through these pages again as I was preparing for this post and it definitely puts me in the right Christmas-sy mood.
I enjoy doing December Daily because it helps my countdown to Christmas more exciting and allows me to look into each day of the season more meaningfully. I love documenting the little stuff too, like how I wrapped presents that time of year, what my favorite holiday drink was, or the Christmas artwork the girls made. These details, I realize, make every Christmas unique. And these are also the things I want to remember.
Of course the Christmas family traditions hold their own place in these spreads — like Noche Buena, Christmas morning at my in-laws and… Star Wars Day!
If you’re thinking of doing DD for the first time, this may seem like a lot of work. But it’s really up to you how you want to do it. The pocket page system, like what I’ve done the past few years is one option but there are many other creative and simpler ways. You can do straight out journal writing, like a diary, or just photos, or you can go digital and create one post per day on Instagram. It’s just a matter of finding out what works best for you. This year, instead of putting together a scrapbook like the one I’m sharing here, I’ll be doing it traveler’s notebook style using all Instax photos. I’m quite excited!
But no matter how you and I document our holidays, I wish we all, just the same, have a really blessed and heart-filled Christmas! May we all find true joy in the little moments and also have big experiences of love and goodness.
To end, here is a quick flip though video I put together of my December Daily 2016 album. Enjoy and have a very memorable December!
