It’s that time of year again and I’m pretty excited to set up and start another December Daily journal! It’s one of those little Christmas traditions I’ve set for myself which allows me to navigate the season with a little bit more intention. It’s a practice that allows me to find a more personal meaning in all the festivities, gift-giving, tinsel and lights, so that I’m not mindlessly going through the motions, doing things a certain way just because it’s how Christmases have always been done. My December Daily journals help make every Christmas season mean something new and different each time.

There’s quite a bit of introspection involved in keeping this journal, of course, but it is also a lot of fun. I enjoy the pages and pages of holiday-themed layouts. I love taking bits and pieces from all the merry-making to embellish my journal. I enjoy the creative work of bringing the happy, festive atmosphere of the season into my journal spreads.

Last year’s DD journal turned out scrappier than usual and I love it! I wanted it to be brimming with color and texture so I really added many layers to it, put in as many photos as I could.

I think I’ll be going the same route this year but also follow a list of prompts which is something I did back in 2020, during that very odd and unfortunate time in history. I was hoping to end that year on a more positive note which was why I came up with and followed a list of Christmas journaling prompts.

I came up with a slightly different one for this year and I’m sharing them with you in case you want to join me in documenting daily this December. It makes filling the pages a little bit more easier, I think, and is also a good way to truly reflect on the season. You don’t even have to journal the way that I do with all the stickers and layering and photos. You can simply write down your entries each day like how you would in a regular diary. It’s totally up to you! Download the prompts HERE and, together, let’s have a meaningful Christmas <3
