I’ve finally come to the end of last year’s #the100dayproject! I stalled for months and months but when I found out two weeks ago that this year’s was about to begin, I knew I just had to catch up! So I did! I managed to finish 28 days worth of drawings within the last 15 days (most drawn the last three!).
To end, I did an illustration of my now sore and ink-stained right hand (see last drawing in post). That’s because my hand and I are very thankful for this project and what it had allowed me to do. First, because I was able to rediscover what used to be my favorite pastime. I guess now you can say, it’s one of my favorite things to do again. Secondly, I’ve drawn things I’ve never drawn and would never have thought of drawing or ever will draw had I not taken part in this project. Lastly, it has been a fun, learning experience, not only in terms of artistry but also in character.
The thought of giving up completely occurred to me so many times specially when I got too busy and had put it on hold. But I think seeing post upon post of finished projects online pushed me to keep at it. Also, I just couldn’t let go of the fact that I enjoy the process. I knew I could see it through the end, I just had to pick up where I had left off, no matter how late in the game, and just do it — do it for the process. I’m so glad I did and reaching the end definitely feels great! It may not have been a world charger but having illustrated 100 different subjects sure is an accomplishment to me. This year’s 100 Day Project began yesterday and I’m joining again with #100InkPrintsByNica! This project involves creating different patterns and imagery by using stamps, sponges and anything I find useful at all to create ink impressions. I’m so excited! Follow my project or better yet, take the leap and join in! Let’s create something everyday together!

Congratulations! I’m just beginning with #100daysofcontrast Last year I did a thirty day series and it was such a springboard for new ideas, but it helps to have people to play along with. Well done for coming back to it even when you’d had a break!
Thank you Alice! Yes, the community totally helps! I get so inspired when I see other people’s work too. I think it’s a great way to try new things and get better at something. I’ll check out your project! I just started a new one today too 🙂
This is so nice! I just started mine yesterday and hoping I’ll get to do it ’til the 100th as well. 🙂
