Why am I still talking about Christmas in February?!? I'll tell you why! It's because I haven't had time to sit down and blog so I'm so very late in featuring this one…BUT the things I'm sharing with you in this post deserve to be acknowledged and adored no matter the delay! And I'm talking about the lovely handmade letters and cards I received from the ladies who joined my Christmas mail swap last December. I love organizing swaps because I'm interested in people and in people's original ideas. In having craft swaps, participants are challenged to come up with something nice regardless of Read More
Project Accomplished!
I've finally come to the end of last year's #the100dayproject! I stalled for months and months but when I found out two weeks ago that this year's was about to begin, I knew I just had to catch up! So I did! I managed to finish 28 days worth of drawings within the last 15 days (most drawn the last three!). To end, I did an illustration of my now sore and ink-stained right hand (see last drawing in post). That's because my hand and I are very thankful for this project and what it had allowed me to do. First, because I was able to rediscover what used to be my favorite pastime. I Read More
Arts & Crafts With Summer
The past month, Summer and I have been doing crafts together. In line with my resolve to become more intentional about teaching her new things through toddler play, I have come up with fun activities to do together, and most of it (so far) are simple art projects, using things available to us at home. I even made an activity planner so I can plot out things we could do and record things we have done. It's been a lot fun and really interesting. Summer has discovered glue and now loves gluing things together. She has also learned to name different colors and is currently learning to name Read More
This Week’s Inspiration
Kayo was supposed to post his Midweek Inspiration a few days ago, but Honeycomb Communities recently launched jerichorosales.tv so he has been very busy filming, writing and putting together content for the website. We've been excited about it for months prior to it's launch because it's a fun and interesting project. It is also because Echo is a very fun and interesting person so his online home should reflect exactly that. I must say that it's turning out to be a great website, not just aesthetically but also content-wise. You should go take a look whether you're an Echo fan or not. It's a Read More
JAMES JEAN in Manila
I had the privilege of meeting ultra-talented illustrator/designer, James Jean last January 6 at a book signing and artist’s talk event put together by Fullybooked. My husband, Kayo, and I took advantage of the opportunity and had our books signed. I, personally, learned so much from his talk. He said so many things that were very enlightening to me as an artist and I came out of it inspired to keep making art even if I have no idea what I’m doing. "Abandon what works for you and do something uncomfortable…Work around the mistakes and let it lead the process…I hate the word style, it’s almost Read More
