You have probably noticed it by now, but I really enjoy my daughters' room. I like being in there with them and I like fixing it up for them (okay, maybe I do it for myself too). It's probably the effect of seeing too many cute little girls' rooms on Pinterest. But aside from decorating it with their own artwork and craft projects, I also like to make art myself to put in their room. So recently, I put together a small wall gallery of illustrations, paintings and photographs for their room. I really like the idea of an all white gallery and thought it would be perfect for the girls Read More
On Decluttering and Preparing the Perfect Nest
This is my third pregnancy and I recently noticed that every time I reach the middle of my second trimester and all throughout the third, it's like I'm on "clean-up, fix-all turbo mode". I don't know if the hormones has something to do with it or if it even has any direct connection to my physical state, but it happens every time. All of a sudden, I'm turning over every nook and cranny of our house, getting rid of unwanted things, rearranging photos and art, repairing broken belongings, and right now, I'm even sewing and potting plants! I remember the night before my first child, Summer, was Read More
The Girls Room
I only got a room of my own when I was eleven. We lived in a tiny two bedroom house and only when both my brothers got married and moved out did I get to take over their room. I remember being so thrilled, having dreamt about it since I was maybe seven. I excitedly worked on the place to make it look and feel like my very own. Now that I have my own two little girls, I'm also quite thrilled for them to have their own room and also to have it early on. Well of course they're sharing it and perhaps will do for the rest of their childhood and adolescence, but it's great that they'll have their Read More
Enjoying Being Home
So after crashing at my in laws for almost two weeks while our new cabinets were being painted and installed, we have finally moved in for good at our new condominium unit. I am very happy to say that we love it here, the girls included. They thoroughly enjoy having their own room, a space to run around just outside our doorstep and other children who live in the building to play with. We're so excited to have finally moved, we decided to stay in for Valentines day and celebrate simply. As usual, Summer and I did a little arts and crafts during the day and I made them Read More
Adios, Serjo!
Last night, Kayo and I spent a couple of hours at our old apartment and emptied it out completely. We took the last of our things that had still been there and made sure we hadn't left personal belongings in any of the cabinets and drawers. We also turned over our keys. While leaving this place is not as difficult for us as leaving our first apartment two years ago, I can't help but feel a little sad. There are things about living there that I will miss. To begin with, I will miss the walk-in closet and the amount of storage space we had in it. I will also greatly miss having my best Read More
We’re Moving!
It's all so sudden and unexpected yet it's God's brilliant answer to our prayers. After two great years at our current apartment, we're moving again and it's all happening within the next few weeks! The first box we packed. This explains why I have not worked on any crafts lately and have been silent on the blog for some time. We have been busy packing and moving our belongings, as well as having some cabinets made and additional fixtures installed. Last weekend, we spent the afternoon at the home depot looking for materials and checking prices. Choosing cabinet doors at the home Read More
10 DAYS TO GO!
My little tree’s lit up and gifts all wrapped up. I got a little creative this year and used scrap pieces of denim sitting inside my closet as gift wrapping. Tied bright red ribbons around them and voila! I think it’s cute! It’s also nice to use to wrap bulky gifts that are difficult to wrap in paper. Hope you all have a fun, creative and inspiring ten days until Christmas! Read More
