It's that time of year again! Christmas trinkets fill shop windows, songs of merry making fill the air and malls have become more aggressive offering holiday discounts! I am caught by surprise. I can't believe we've already reached this time of year. It's all so quick but also so very exciting and, you know, the excitement cannot be contained! Therefore, we are happy to introduce this year's wonderful Carlos & Veronica Christmas Card Collection! We launched them at the Maker's Pop Up at Kendo Creative last month and I also gave some away to all Craft Camp participants last weekend. Wrote Read More
Project Accomplished!
I've finally come to the end of last year's #the100dayproject! I stalled for months and months but when I found out two weeks ago that this year's was about to begin, I knew I just had to catch up! So I did! I managed to finish 28 days worth of drawings within the last 15 days (most drawn the last three!). To end, I did an illustration of my now sore and ink-stained right hand (see last drawing in post). That's because my hand and I are very thankful for this project and what it had allowed me to do. First, because I was able to rediscover what used to be my favorite pastime. I Read More

Drawing with Kuya Robert
It's always exciting to be in a room full people who are passionate about art and making. I always come out of it fuller. And that's exactly my experience last June 28 when I attended Hey Kessy's newest washi tape launch designed by the very talented Robert Alejandro at the Hey Kessy studio. A specific mix of people where there — designers, crafters, letterists, illustrators, art lovers, some were Mansy's long time friends, others she only very recently met online — but every single one eager to learn and to grow. I believe I'm speaking for every one of us there when I say that we learned Read More
Halfway There!
If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably noticed that I've been posting multiple drawings at a time lately. That's because I'm fifteen days behind the 100 Day Project and I'm trying to catch up! I knew I'd get delayed from time to time but I wasn't expecting I'd get so busy. This post is actually two weeks late (or is it three?)! ANYWAY...enough feeling sorry for myself. Let me just celebrate the fact that I am halfway through (and a little over) this project! Hooray! I have stayed on playing along because this project has done and is doing me good in many surprising ways. If on my Read More
100 Drawings By Nica
Yesterday was the 25th day of The 100 Day Project – an online challenge on Instagram pioneered by Elle Luna and The Great Discontent, which celebrates the process of making and encourages people to devote 100 days of their lives exploring something new or doing something they are passionate about. I had never heard of Elle or TGD until the day before the project began. I just heard about it from Kayo who thought we should join so we can both work on our drawings. But when I read more about what the story behind it was and the reasons why one should do it, I got excited about playing along. So Read More
The Girls’ All White Gallery Wall
You have probably noticed it by now, but I really enjoy my daughters' room. I like being in there with them and I like fixing it up for them (okay, maybe I do it for myself too). It's probably the effect of seeing too many cute little girls' rooms on Pinterest. But aside from decorating it with their own artwork and craft projects, I also like to make art myself to put in their room. So recently, I put together a small wall gallery of illustrations, paintings and photographs for their room. I really like the idea of an all white gallery and thought it would be perfect for the girls Read More
Craft Catch Up + Watercolor Delights
The last few days, I've been working on small, simple craft projects during my free time. Some of them I do with the kids, some I do by myself to wind down. I guess you could say I'm trying to catch up on my crafting. After that first trimester of my pregnancy when I was feeling too sick to zone in on making art, I now find myself full of ideas and my hands just itching to make and create. So I'm taking it one afternoon at a time, carving a little here and painting a little there. I realize when you immediately act on an urge to create, more creative ideas are birthed until you find Read More

A Watercolor Project For Juice Hut
A few months ago, I worked on a brand logo for my sister in law's cousin, Mia. She was opening a fresh juice and veggie stall at a school campus, called Juice Hut, and needed help with the logo and menu board. When I heard what she had in mind for the design, I excitedly agreed to do it. She wanted a very handmade and organic look so she specifically requested for watercolor illustrations, which I love to do. Here is the logo I made. It was Mia's idea to incorporate a vegetable or fruit illustration on it so I decided to put a bright orange carrot. I also worked on several other Read More
