While looking through some art blogs, I came across Oana Befort’s alphabet illustrations. It’s a project she started where she paints an animal for each letter of the alphabet. Her work is so beautiful that I was inspired to take up watercolor painting again. I’m no near as good as her but I’m taking up the challenge and I’ve decided to start my own alphabet series. As you see, i’m starting out simple but I hope to produce better, more intricate things as I go. I’m doing this to improve my drawing, have more things to share in my blog and be continually inspired. But also, I’m doing it for my daughter and future children (maybe even my nephews and nieces too!), hoping they serve as tools when it’s time they learn to read and write. Announcing it here also means I’m really doing it and there’s no turning back! So here it begins with A!
“…Now I know my A-B-C, next time won’t you sing (or draw) with me!”
