Yes! I get to update my blog! Ha! The last month has been amazingly crazy and ultra busy that I have been having difficulty squeezing in some writing time. But I finally got to make it happen, so allow me take you back to a month ago and tell you about my first ever event in collaboration with Juice Hut — The Juice Hut Craft Party!
It’s actually funny how this came about. It happened one afternoon when Mia, JH owner, and I were exchanging emails, talking about work, as usual, but also sharing with each other our hopes and dreams for our respective passions and creative pursuits. We do this from time to time. Mia, you should know, is the kind of person who loves trying out new things and gives 100% to whatever she gets into. So as this email conversation progressed (Makes me wonder why we didn’t just call each other :P), we decided to organize an arts and crafts workshop together! And everything just happened pretty quickly. As in we came up with the idea that night and then the next day started announcing and accepting registrants! But to our surprise, we got an amazing response and was able to fill a good amount of slots in no time.
We held the Juice Hut Craft Party on the morning of May 16 at Honeycomb: Manila Coworking. We had fifteen participants and they all came very eager to learn and make new things. Our breakfast was prepared by Edsa Beverage Design Studio and was a combo of chocolate croissant, granola with yogurt, which seemed to be everybody’s favorite, and a cup of freshly hand poured coffee. It was delicious!
We based the format of this workshop to my birthday craft party a few months back and prepared the same three craft projects we had then: rubber stamp carving, stationery making and clate plate painting. Upon registration, we gave them the option of purchasing their very own carving tool set with their kits. Most of them went for this option and the few who didn’t were provided tools they could borrow for the session.
I love how creative these group of ladies were! I provided templates they could trace to make stamps but most of them came up with their very own unique and quirky designs!
I also really liked that they didn’t just use their stamps to make their stationery, they also used them to decorate their clay plates.
Of course, we had a little contest too. Mia and I chose the best clay plate and card design. The winners were the Neyo + Kim hair silhouette stamped card and the cacti clay plate. Aren’t they cute?!! These two participants got first dibs on our spread of gifts from our event sponsors. Which, by the way, we are super thankful for.
Mia and I are overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the following sponsors: JPatricio Photography (event coverage), Style Your Home PH (Ikea items), Kate Baked (cookies!), Canary Cosmetics (eye cream), Loops by Raya (accessories) and Passion Cards by Rhiza Oyos of Pursuit Manila. And this Craft Party would not have been possible without one of my favorite shops in Manila, Hey Kessy, who was our craft supply partner. We also raffled off some fresh juices from Juice Hut and postcards and gift cards from me. All the participants took home wonderful goodies from these sponsors and were quite pleased with their loot.
Mia and I were ecstatic about the turnout of our first event together. It was a project bornt out of curiosity (What if we do this?), love for making things and the desire to connect with other people. So we’re delighted that it all came together quite effortlessly and that those who joined had a great time. That’s all we really wanted!
And because our first Craft Party was too much fun, we’re already working on a re-run! We are still ironing out the details but we’re aiming for July 4th. Regitration fee will remain the same. If you are interested, drop us an email at juicehut_manila@yahoo.com. We would love to have you join us 🙂
Once again, I would like to thank Mia Sison for doing this crazy spur of the moment project with me. I can’t believe we actually made it happen in just a few weeks! Congrats!
And thank you so much to our first batch of participants! You, ladies, were amazing and we’re so pleased to have met you and shared this crafty morning with you. Til our next craft session! 😉

Yehey. Super fun event. Thanks again Nica and Mica. I have found new friends who are also into crafting. I also learned how to do flatlay post in Instagram c/o Mia.
