Kayo was supposed to post his Midweek Inspiration a few days ago, but Honeycomb Communities recently launched jerichorosales.tv so he has been very busy filming, writing and putting together content for the website. We’ve been excited about it for months prior to it’s launch because it’s a fun and interesting project. It is also because Echo is a very fun and interesting person so his online home should reflect exactly that. I must say that it’s turning out to be a great website, not just aesthetically but also content-wise. You should go take a look whether you’re an Echo fan or not. It’s a really cool site!
So anyway, Kayo and I agreed that I should just post whatever I want for inspiration. And speaking of cool websites, I’ve been gleaning inspiration, wisdom and encouragement from several websites and blogs the past week. The different areas of my life have been craving for growth so I do what I can to satisfy them. Whatever type of inspiration you need, I hope you get something from this list of websites as well:
For the MOM (and TEACHER)…
Summer, like all toddlers, are in constant need of entertainment and play. I also recognise that it is a good time to incorporate lessons to her daily activities. Since Kayo and I have no plans of enrolling her to a toddler class or pre-school as of now, I’ve started doing some research on how I can help Summer discover more about the world around her in fun ways while just being at home. I came across this website called Intentional Homeschool where homeschooling moms Leigh Ann and Nikki make available practical tips resources on how to guide, educate, inspire, encourage, and exhort children, not only in normal development but in the ways of the Lord. They believe that learning begins the moment a child enters the world and that the home is a perfect place to do that, no matter what your view of “formal education” is.
I’ve been browsing through this website, collecting various activity ideas Summer and I can do on a daily basis. There’s a lot of arts and crafts so I’m pretty excited too! Maybe I’ll post about it some time.
For the LAYOUT ARTIST…
OhSoBeautifulPaper.com feature paper goods, party invitations, calligraphy, gift wrapping and various event planning ideas from and by the most talented designers. Visiting this site makes me fall in love with paper crafts and design over and over.
For the DIY LOVER…
There is actually quite a lot of sites I go to for DIY inspiration but one of my favorites is Lovely Indeed by Chelsea Costa because of her wide variety of art projects. From DIY earrings to DIY succulent gardens to DIY photo booth backdrops to DIY vintage furniture restyle – she does them all. She also does a lot of gilding (applying gold leaf or powder on solid surfaces) which I’m currently loving, that’s why I follow her blog.
For the INTERIOR STYLIST (or simply those who like beautifying space)…
This is my favorite inspiring piece, so I saved it for last. Emily Henderson, HGTV host, designer, stylist and blogger worked on the Oh Joy Blogs studio. That’s how I came upon her and her work is absolutely stunning. What she did with the Oh Joy creative space is exactly how I would want my home or office/studio to look like – a lot of white, a red brick wall, touches of gold and pops of color. It’s bright, happy, messy, but orderly at the same time. I’m so crazy about it. I probably look through the post every other day or something! But it does inspire me to make my small home prettier, one decor piece at a time. Sigh…you have to see it for yourself, so check it out here and here and lastly, here!
And there you go! I hope these websites sparked a fire of creativity in you. I hope you go and make something new and beautiful after reading this post. Have a fun and creative weekend!
