We do not personally know of any people living in the areas drastically destroyed by the typhoon, but people who are close to us do have friends and family who are missing and unaccounted for. We really have no words to explain the grief that has come over our country the past several days. We are saddened and worried. We will do what we can to help those who are in need and greatly suffering by sending donations and we will also keep calling out to the One who has all the power to save and redeem lives.
Our hearts and our prayers go out to all the families who are experiencing loss. And to those whose loved ones still cannot be found, we pray for strength, endurance and hope.
Even if the typhoon has weakened as it exits the Philippines, let us keep waking up the heavens with our prayers, and call on God’s powerful hand to still the raging seas of despair and comfort the sorrowful hearts.
The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. [Luke 8:24]
